Mac|Life is reporting that iTunes 10 has dropped the ability for users to create ringtones from songs bought from the iTunes store. As you may know, the features, which was introduced in September of 2007, allowed users to select up to 30 seconds of select songs and make them into a ringtone for 99¢ plus the cost of the song.
After looking around in the application, it seems that ringtone creation has been pulled from iTunes 10. We checked iTunes and were met with only information on how to sync ringtones from iTunes.
Apple still has a support document posted on their site outlining the process in which users can create custom ringtones, even though the feature seems to have been removed in iTunes 10.
Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t even see where you can buy the “pre-selected” ringtones Apple introduced last year in the desktop store. It does appear that you can still purchase ringtones from iTunes on your iPhone, however.
