Apple to Bring FaceTime to Mac OS X and Windows?

Mac4Ever is reporting that iLife ’11 is nearing launch, and the suite will bring FaceTime video calling that was introduced with the iPhone 4, and latter offered in the new fourth-gen iPod touches, to Mac OS X and PC. FaceTime would reportedly be folded into Mac OS X’s existing iChat client, but there is no word on how it would be utilized on a Windows PC.

To begin with, iLife ’11, which was announced this summer (along with the disappearance of iDVD), might finally come out very very soon. Moreover, it’s rumored that Apple is getting ready to release Facetime for Mac and PC, with the Mac version being integrated into the iChat software.

Mac4Ever has been wrong in the past regarding iLife ’11. They had previously stated that it would be introduced on August 17th. That didn’t happen of course, but that same report also claimed that the new iLife suite would be fully 64-bit compatible, a major iWeb overhaul, a new “mystery” app, and the discontinuation of iDVD.
