Cydia + Rock Merger FAQ on Cydia [Jailbreak]

Instead of speculating about what will happen with Rock and Cydia now that they’ve merged, I’d just like to point you to the Cydia/Rock Merger FAQ that hit Cydia’s front page this weekend. The FAQ answers important, relevant questions like “what does that even mean?” and “but…Rock was awesome! It was so much faster than Cydia it hurts” (which isn’t even a question, but I’m not judging).

I do admit that I was a little disappointed by some of what I read, as it seems like Cydia will only be taking on the Rock Backup system and nothing more, but Saurik does have his reasons. There are rather vague bits in the FAQ about how Rock Your Phone’s handling of package installation was actually a little haphazard, or dangerous, even.

I’m sure the changes mentioned in the FAQ will take a little while to trickle down to the end user, but if you have any Cydia feedback in the meantime, a little chpwn-shaped birdie told me that you can send it to cyissues@chpwn.com (just make sure it’s detailed feedback so he can actually make something of it).
