During my three years of owning every iPhone I’ve never dropped one on anything other than carpet. I’ve never spilled liquid on one either. Basically, never done anything to put my iPhones in harm’s way.
Until today that is. Today I left my iPhone 4 in my car when my daughter and I got home from her school pickup. Left it in a car in our parking lot on a typical Austin late summer afternoon. That is to say an afternoon where the temperature was at a bit north of ‘fry an egg, a big thick steak, and a side of fries on the pavement’. For 1.5 hours. Yes – a complete eejit move if ever there was one.
The iPhone was a bit pissed at me when I eventually rescued it from the heat, and showed me the angry temperature screen. It took just a few minutes inside with AC on for it to turn back on and it appears to be fine now. Phew, what a dopey move.
