Apple has announced that it will launch the Wi-Fi models of the iPad in China on September 17th.
Apple today announced that the Wi-Fi models of its magical iPad will be available to customers in China from Apple Retail Stores, and select Apple Authorized Resellers, on Friday, September 17 starting at 10:00 a.m.
The iPads will be priced as follows: 16GB CNY3988 ($590), 32GB CNY4788 ($708), and the 64GB model for CNY5588 ($827).
There is no word on the 3G models, and when Chinese customer might expect them. The delay probably comes from regulatory issues with the Chinese government. Although, Chinese Unicom had previously announced that they would carry the iPad sometime in the future.
Apple also announced that the iPad will also be launched in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru on the same date, September 17th.
