MacRumors is reporting that Apple released yesterday the first beta of iOS 4.2 for iPhone, iPod touch, and finally, iPad. iOS 4.2 was announced at the September 1st iPod media event, and is scheduled for a November release timeframe.
iOS 4.2 will finally bring many of the iOS 4 features that many users have been enjoying on their iPhones and iPod touches, to the iPad. In fact, soon after the announcement, Apple launched a preview page outlining all of the features coming to the iPad in this update.
One high profile update that will be included in the release is the ability to wirelessly print documents from your iOS device. Apple is calling this new feature AirPrint. The feature does require the beta of Mac OS X 10.6.5 to be installed, but other than that, there is no setup.
This beta just comes a week after the release of iOS 4.1 to the general public. iOS 4.2 beta will run on iPhone 3G, 3GS, and iPhone 4, and the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th generation iPod touch.
