SongSender, developed by 15 year old high school student Dylan Reich, is the first app to reach the iOS platform that lets you send playlists of songs from your iOS song library through email or SMS, or post them on Twitter and Facebook!
SongSender is a good little app and a nice idea, and it’s always cool to see young indie developers in the App Store.
I’ve given the app a quick try – after spotting it via a forum thread at everythingiCafe – and it works as advertised. It is a very bare bones app in its current 1.1 version though.
For now, the app provides an easy way to quickly share a set of songs with a friend. Some things I’d like to see to make it a more compelling app are:
— iTunes links for the songs in the lists.
– An ability to name your lists prior to sharing them
— A nicer UI – it’s very basic and drab at the moment
It’s a nice concept – and I hope Dylan gets a chance to keep updating it and adding features, as long as it doesn’t mess with his school time. ![]()
You can find SongSender in the App Store now, priced at $0.99. It requires iOS 4.0.
