After last week’s MacRumors report that unveiled evidence suggesting that the new iOS-based Apple TV could potentially support apps in the future, a LinkedIn profile from a Apple employee ads something interesting to the story. This intern states that their summer position at Apple was spent as an “Apple TV Apps Engineer”.
Yes, this could simply mean that the features built into the soon-to-begin shipping Apple TV, were what this particular intern was working on. On the other hand, this could very well mean that Apple is at least looking into the possibility of bringing App Store apps to the new Apple TV in some form or fashion.
To me, this is incredibly exciting. Just think of what you could do with it. Apple could very easily turn this into a video game console, a hub for media (which it already is), a news provider, the possibilities are endless with Apps on a big screen.
