9to5Mac is reporting on a post on a Chinese rumor site that claims the rumored 7-inch iPad is a “finished product.” The site goes on to say that overall design looks more like an iPhone 4 than that of the current iPads. Lastly, the report claims that Apple has released at least five separate decoy designs in an effort protect the final product’s secrecy before launch.
Yes there will be a 7″ tablet, yes it’s well underway in terms of product development and in fact it’s a finished product. Yes 5 plus different designs have been floating around to help Apple protect itself from people discovering its next product look and feel but… the final design will in fact bear more resemblance to the iPhone 4 stylings than the original iPad design.
Yes, we’ve heard several rumors since the original iPad was launched, that Apple is working on a smaller 7-inch model. Some claims have gone so far as to say the new smaller iPad will be on sale for this holiday quarter.
I’ve said it before and I’ll day it again: I expect the iPad to get bigger, not smaller. We’ll see.
