9to5Mac is reporting that the iOS 4.2 Beta 2 released the other day has a tethering option that can be turned on or off in the Settings app. To no one’s surprise, this feature appears to be available only in Europe, and does not appear to be available for AT&T customers here in the States.
The option appears to allow users to share their iPad’s cellular data connection with other devices, namely computers through a USB cable. It’s a shame you can’t tether your iPhone’s data connection to your iPad.
So, if you live anywhere other than the U.S. expect tethering to arrive on the iPad sometime soon, likely in November.
