If you’ve spent more than a few minutes of your time playing the excellent 2D platformer, Canabalt ($2.99), then you might enjoy this developer diary from Semi Secret Software. It’s all about how they fine-tuned the animations, decided on obstacles, and how they place those (damn!) windows.

This technically falls a little more under the realm of “Mac News” than “iPhone app” news because the article deals specifically with the Flash version of Canabalt, but that’s alright. The cool and ultra geeky insights in this developer diary likely apply to many aspects of the iPhone app as well.
