ToDo is one of the first apps that I purchased on my iPhone 2G (when the App Store first came out), and so it’s one of those apps that I re-install whenever a major update comes out. I don’t actually use ToDo as my task manager any more, but I feel a strange sense of loyalty towards my first $10 iPhone purchase (though the iPhone app only costs $4.99 now).
ToDo 4.0 still feels very familiar, but in a good way: it still has the same colour scheme and overall layout of the previous three versions, but the icon has seen a pretty sweet overhaul. There are, of course, the additions of iOS 4 goodies like multitasking and local notifications for alarms, but the biggest change seems to be the OTA sync with Todo Online (7-day trial, $20/year). This means that ToDo for iPhone can sync with iCal/Outlook over wi-fi, but also with ToodleDo or Todo Online over-the-air (i.e. without wi-fi), making it one of the most flexible task managers on the App Store.
Alright. That’s all I have to say about that. I’ll see you all again when Todo 5.0 comes out.
