Every iOS device owner knows that you slide to unlock the device. It’s been that way since 2007.
Unfortunately, today was the day my iPhone decided (thanks to a weird statusbar bug) that the unlocking slider wasn’t quite wide enough…so it stretched it past the borders of the screen. No matter how precise I tried to be, there was simply no way for me to get the slider all the way to the right side to complete an unlock.
I then tried to turn the device off by holding the power button down, but “slide to power off” bar had, apparently, gorged on a few extra helpings of turkey this past weekend, so it, too, was stretched well beyond the confines of my screen. To make a short story even shorter: holding the power and home buttons for a quick soft reset did the job and my unlock screen is back to normal.
And no, I’m not even going to try to guess why my homescreen was bleeding into the lockscreen. 🙂
