9to5Mac is claiming that a small, but significant number of users upgrading from iPhoto ’09 to iPhoto ’11 are having their photo libraries disappear after instillation.
Specifically, some people are losing some or all of their photo libraries when upgrading. Also, iPhoto ’11 drops support for older AppleTVs as well as photo calendars.
Apple’s Discussion Forums are lighting up with people who are losing data..
Some of the suggested methods to fix the problem are repairing permissions and rebuilding iPhoto libraries. Ultimately, the safest bet is to make a backup of your photo library (preferably you entire hard drive) before installing the new version of iPhoto.
