Apple’s crusade against Adobe Flash has shown success in a new survey, which found that 54 percent of video online is now available in H.264 via HTML5, the modern standard for the web embraced by Apple in iOS and Mac OS X.
Wow, that’s a surprisingly big number if it’s accurate. The survey apparently states (the obvious) that Flash remains the dominant player on traditional PCs, but that mobile devices are driving adoption of HTML5 video.
Also seems notable that the figure has gone up so steeply since January, when a certain magical, unicorn-powered tablet device was announced.
