It’s Halloween weekend, and the App Store is full of themed apps that celebrate this fun holiday. From scary soundboards to spooky games and eBooks there are lots of apps around to keep you and your little ones entertained until it’s time to go trick or treating.
In fact, there is a featured App Store section for all these titles. There are over 30 in total, including a dozen in a special ‘Picks for Kids’ sub-section. You can find these sections just by going to the Featured area in iTunes or on your iPhone/Touch/iPad and looking for the dark grey backgrounded Halloween banner.
I’ve got one personal recommendation from the Kids section: The Legend of Spookley the Square Pumpkin, shown in the above screencap. I got this one a few weeks back for reading with my daughter (who is 7.5 years old) and it’s been a big hit.
