The image above – shared by jailbreak dev iH8sn0w – shows an iPad running iOS 4.2 and jailbroken. You can see the 4.2 Multitasking Bar, and the Mobile Terminal jailbreak app.
So it looks like iOS 4.2 may well be jailbroken as soon as it’s released. And from everything we’ve heard so far about the exploits (security holes) that have enabled the latest jailbreaks (regardless of whether you use Pwnage Tool, limera1n, or Greenpois0n), it will be a good while before Apple can break them. As the exploits are ‘hardware based’ it is expected that it will require a hardware refresh to address them.
Good times for iOS jailbreakers – for now you can have your latest OS cake and jailbreak it too.
