Cult of Mac is reporting that Apple is working on something quite innovative for its next iPhone: near-field communication technology. This is most commonly associated with quick-paying credit card transactions, but Apple is reportedly setting its sights much higher than that.
This particular technology would authorize your iPhone to turn any Mac into your Mac with your own personal settings and documents. By linking the Mac and your iPhone, you would have access to your settings, bookmarks, documents, and more. Challenges, like how much data could be stored on the phone to use on a Mac, however, remain.
This will no doubt be an interesting story to follow as more details become available.
