
Apple CEO Steve Jobs has reportedly answered another customer email, this time regarding Apple’s adoption of USB 3. According the Jobs’ response, it’ll be awhile before the emerging standard makes it’s way to the Mac.
Jobs:
We don’t see USB 3 taking off at this time. No support from Intel, for example.
There had been rumors that Apple was planing to adopt USB 3.0, but this email certainly casts doubt. So, likely no USB 3 coming in the near future. I can believe that. Apple has been making a push towards wireless connectivity, and Intel is currently working on their Light Peak connector, possibly in conjunction with Apple.
