VLC Media Player Likely to Be Removed from the App Store Soon

It looks like the VLC Media Player app – based on the popular, versatile open-source multimedia player application – may be on its way out of the App Store soon. A copyright infringement suit has been filed against it – as its GPL license conflicts with the DRM used in the App Store.

So now is a very good time to grab this free app if you’re interested in it, as its days are apparently numbered. You can still find it in the App Store this morning.
