Apple sent emails to music label representatives Tuesday notifying them that iTunes music previews in the United States will be extended from 30 seconds to 90 seconds.
Nice. I still don’t see why you can’t just preview a whole song at least one time, but tripling the length of song previews is better than a kick in the teeth.
The change will only affect songs that are over 2 minutes and 30 seconds, shorter ones will keep the 30-second preview length. No word yet on when this change will be implemented in the iTunes store.
