Bloomberg is reporting that Apple is set to release the white iPhone 4 by the end of this month. The delay in the device’s release is due to the white paint coat peeling under high temperatures. They also echo other recent reports claiming that there will be no new hardware at this year’s WWDC. Two other major news sources, Reuters and The Wall Street Journal, also claim that the white iPhone 4 is on the way.
You have to remember, that the white iPhone 4 was due to launch alongside the black model from the beginning, then it was delayed a month, then again until the fall, then again to this Spring. It looks like they’re finally going to hit one of their self-imposed deadlines. Only 10 months after the device launched.
Considering all of these major new agencies got ahold of this story, it reeks of one of Apple’s controlled media leaks. In short, someone high up at Apple deliberately released this information to the media, presumably so it makes a bigger splash at launch.
