If you are a regular, occasional, or even newbie jailbreaker, you’ve probably had times where you really wanted to talk to other jailbreakers. To get advice on how to do a current jailbreak, help with problems, advice on the best jailbreak apps, or similar sorts of topics.
I know I had that urge right from way back in my 1.x jailbreaking days. Up to now I’ve always relied on emails to friends like Brandon or participation at forums like everythingiCafe or ModMyi for all my jailbreak-realted discussions.
How cool would it be to meetup in person with some fellow jailbreakers and trade tips and tricks, favorite apps, and just generally shoot the breeze? Very cool indeed, I reckon. So I’m very happy to see that the jailbreak community is organizing a first-ever Global Jailbreak Meetup Day, this coming July 10th.
Using the Meetup.com site, the community has already got meetups starting up in over 160 cities and towns round the world. There’s one here in Austin, Texas that doesn’t have a venue yet, but hey we’re a few months away from JB-Day still.
If you’d like to join in on one of these meetups in your town, or get one started if it hasn’t been done yet, check out the page for this at Meetup.com:

And if any of you are planning to attend the Austin meetup, let me know in the comments. I’m going to plan to be there.
Thanks to Cody at iPhone Download Blog for the heads-up on this.
