BodyGuardz has always been my first choice when it came to protecting my iPhones over the years.  The level of protection provided has always been stellar.  From the liquid based installations, to the newer dry apply method, your electronic devices will maintain that “naked” brand new look with unbeatable protection from scratches and everyday wear.

Recently I saw a review of the iPad 2 Armor Carbon Fiber skin, and my first impression was that it looked great.  I wondered what it would look like on my iPhone 4.  Turns out, it looks great, too!

I love the look of the iPhone 4.  It’s still strikes me as a thing of beauty.  However, with the glass backing, instead of the plastic or aluminum of the previous iPhones, the risk of it becoming scratched or broken is greatly enhanced.  That is until you apply a BodyGuardz skin like the Carbon Fiber Armor series.  Inside you get the usual inventory—instruction manual, Carbon fiber skin cutouts, screen protector, micro-fiber cloth, and a squeegee.

Installation is pretty basic.  Make sure your hands and iPhone are clean before applying any of the cut-out skins and screen protector.  The carbon fiber sections are especially easy to handle, since they are textured and thus, somewhat rigid.  The screen protector is a dry apply.  Just line up your home button, and slowly slide up the top of the phone with your squeegee.  Small bubbles will disappear in 12-24 hours, so no need to worry if it’s not perfect.  That’s it!

Personally, I really dig how the iPhone 4 looks with the back and antennas covered in the Carbon Fiber Armor.  However, I use a windshield mount that cradles my iPhone, and it doesn’t have any clearance, even for such a slim skin.  So I only use the backing of the Armor right now.  This way, I can lay it down on most surface, and I don’t have to worry about scratching it up or it sliding out of my hands.  Plus, I have a silicone case that I sometimes use when I’m at work to add extra protection for those times when it accidental hits the ground, and the Carbon Fiber Armor doesn’t prevent me from using both simultaneously.

Overall, I can highly recommend the BodyGuardz Carbon Fiber Armor skin for the iPhone 4.  This is another in a long line of quality protection skins from BodyGuardz, and for only $19.95 you can’t go wrong.  The textured look is very sharp, and it is available in both black and white.  I think I’ve heard that Apple may finally be releasing a white iPhone soon?!  Don’t forget, with BodyGuardz in addition to trusted protection you always get a lifetime of replacements for your purchase.
