Dropbox 1.4 for iPhone and iPad gets batch uploading!

I was lamenting the free Dropbox app’s inability to batch upload earlier today when, lo and behold, I found version 1.4 waiting for me in the app updates tab of the App Store. It told me that it was returning to the tabbed interface days of yore (it was a better time) and also held a very pleasant surprise: a new, dedicated upload tab for the batch uploading of media. You know, like for pictures and video.

I put this new little tab to the test and found it to be very usable: all it takes is a tap on the + button in the top-right portion of the menu, a quick couple of taps to select the content I’d like to upload, and then a little bit of thumb fiddling and whistling while I wait for the uploads to finish (the individual progress bars for files are helpful here).

The only thing I’d really want is the ability to upload in the background, but I’m okay if Dropbox decides to save that for another day.
