Video Surfaces Showing Purported 64GB White iPhone Running ‘Expose’-Capable iOS

A video that was originally posted on Tinhte.vn, has been making the rounds and shows a purported white iPhone 4 running an unreleased “test” version of iOS that has an Expose-esque multitasking experience, showing screenshots of 9, recently-running apps. This could have been dismissed as a fake, considering the home button is all white, and the multitasking feature very closely resembles multitasking found in jail broken iPhones.

But it’s not over. A second video originally scrounged up by 9to5Mac shows an iPhone that more-closely resembles the iPhone we know and love, while also running the same iOS as the original video. The back of the device has the traditional marking of a prototype. That is, instead of labeling how much storage the device has, it’s marked as “XXGB”. On the “About” screen, as the video shows, the device seemingly has 64GB of storage.

The device seems to have several applications only loaded onto internal Apple devices. These apps are used for things such as demoing, diagnostics, and testing. Plus, a tweet from @ chronic, a noted jailbreaker notes that this is build 8A216, a real Apple build.

To me, this isn’t so much a discovery os something new, as much as it shows a bunch of things that Apple decided not to release. I have no doubt that 64GB of storage is coming to the iPhone sometime in the future. However, and this is what I find more intriguing, is the Expose-like multitasking. I don’t think this is a new feature Apple is working on, as much as it’s an early implementation of the multitasking bar we know and love in the current version of iOS. You know, when you double press the home button, and the dock is replaced with your recently opened applications- that’s what this Expose-like thing became. At least that’s what I think. Because it doesn’t seem to do anything different that the multitasking bar we have.
