One Single Life (free) is just like that first leap of faith you take in Canabalt ($2.99), except for the fact that dying will end the game. Forever.

Yep. You read that right. The game is being marketed as a “do you have what it takes to make the cut if everything was on the line?” kind of experience, and each of the game’s levels tries to make the act of jumping from building to building as dramatic as possible. You’ll hear your own heartbeat, you’ll see discouraging statistics (“33% of players will not make this jump”), and you’ll either jump and land…or fail and fall.

That’s really all there is to this free download, but if you’re curious about how far you can make it, give it a shot. I made it to level 7 (the seventh jump) and although I could re-install the whole app to get another shot, I feel like I’ve already seen all there is to see in this micro indie game.
