Apple Providing Big Game Developers with A5 Equipped iPhones for Development Purposes

134644-a5_ipad_2_150px.jpg9to5Mac is reporting that Apple has been issuing A5-equipped iPhones to several big name iOS game developers, in an effort to assist them with development for the new faster system, before it’s released to market. These iPhones reportedly look exactly like the current iPhone 4, but have the more powerful A5 chip that is currently found in the iPad 2.

These units appear to simply offer processors similar to that of what Apple plans to ship in the next-generation iPhone, but without the bells and whistles that are expected to come with the next-generation iPhone.

In short, these are modified units, with a similar system architecture to the next-generation iPhone, issued with the purpose of giving developers hands-on time to tweak their applications for the new hardware, to better accommodate the device when it’s released to the public.
