If you use the free Friendly for Facebook iPad app, you may have noticed that it has completely ceased to function in the last week (coinciding with the latest 3.5 update). Instead of a Friendly custom interface, all I see when I load the app up now is a login error. After manually logging in, I’ll then be presented with the Facebook mobile website (loaded in an in-app browser). Dismissing this website with the “done” button sends me to a black screen that requires a restart of the app to escape.
Maybe it’s just me, but I think Friendly is losing face here.
The Friendly app description has suggested reinstalling the app and restarting the iPad. I followed both of those instructions, but unfortunately nothing has changed.
I have reached out to the developers at Oecoway and have gotten word that an update that fixes all of this has been in queue at Apple since Saturday. For what it’s worth, it also appears to have been a change on the Facebook side of things rather than a mistake on Oecoway’s part.
In the mean time, I’m trying (and quite liking) the Friended Facebook app, so it would really be best for Oecoway’s hot fix to be approved sooner rather than later.
