Next, MIC Gadget has an image of a side-by-side comparison of the front bezel and LCD of the current iPhone 4, and the purported “iPhone 4S”. The “iPhone 4S” does indeed appear to have a larger screen that runs from edge to edge of the device. This edge-to-edge screen design smacks of a supposed design drawing that leaked a few months back.

To my mind, I can totally see Apple removing some of the side bezel, and running the screen from edge-to-edge of the device. That said, I don’t think Apple will change the size of the screen. You’ve heard it from me before, but if Apple were to change the size of the screen, it would make it difficult on developers to accommodate the different resolutions and sizes at the same time, which is the same problem that currently plagues the Android development community. Also, the math would have to work out correctly. That is, the resolution, or pixel count, would have to be a perfect base 4 to accommodate UI elements without antialiasing, which in laymen’s terms is “blurriness”.
