Software Updates: iPhoto 9.1.2, Snow Leopards Fonts, iMac Hard Drive Firmware

Software_Update_icon.pngOver the past few days, Apple has released several software updates. None of them particularly exciting, but worth noting nonetheless.

First, Apple released iPhoto 9.1.2, which is primarily a bug fix release.
Specifically, it fixes problems such a the toolbar not hiding when in full screen view, formatting issues with book, card and calendar themes, and other bugs of this nature.

It is a fairly hefty update at 106.32MB, and requires Mac OS 10.6.6. Of course you can get the update through Software Update, or directly from Apple’s support page.

The next update, called Snow Leopard Font Update, fixes the OS’s handling of some OpenType fonts. It fixes problems where OpenType fonts don’t show up in some applications correctly, printing from Preview.app, and other small bugs.

This update is a poultry 3.77MB and requires Mac OS X 10.6.7 to be installed.

Lastly, is a specific update aimed at Mid-2010 (the current model) iMacs and is called “iMac Hard Drive Firmware Update 1.0“, and fixes a booting problem experienced by some users. The update itself is very small, only 767KB, and requires Mac OS X 10.6.7 to be installed.
