Derek Jeter – There’s an App for That/Him

There’s single-purpose apps and then there’s the DerekJeter app. It’s a single player app, or maybe an iOS baseball card. Here’s the App Store description of it:

The Derek Jeter App brings you the latest stats, news, talk, bios, tweets and everything else a Derek Jeter fan would want. This app also includes at-bat music that you hear at baseball games throughout the summer.

Now I’m a lifetime Yankees fan, and Jeter is a sure Hall of Famer and one of the most iconic Yankee players of recent decades – but I still don’t feel a desperate need to have an app dedicated to him on my iPhone or iPad. And even if I did, at $0.99 for the single player app, that could get expensive quick if you tried to collect all your favorite players.
