Apple has release the iOS 4.3.3 firmware update today; it’s available now via iTunes. This update is all about the crowd-sourced location database that has received so much attention over recent weeks, and fixes to how it works.
Here are the details on the update:
The update contains changes to the iOS crowd-sourced location database including:
– Reduces the size of the cache
– No longer backs the cache up to iTunes
– Deletes the cache entirely when Location Services is turned off.The following iOS products are compatible with this update:
iPhone 4 (GSM)
iPhone 3GS
iPad 2
iPad
iPod touch (4th generation)
iPod touch (3rd generation)
I’ve got my iPhone 4 jailbroken right now, and I’m with Joe as far as ‘much ado about nothing’ on the location DB, so I’ll hold off on updating the iPhone for now. I have just updated my iPad 2 though.
Have any of you run the 4.3.3 update yet? If so, have you noticed any other unannounced changes?
