Report Claims Next-Generation iPhone Coming this September, Work with Sprint and T-Mobile Networks

iphone-4-low-signal.jpgForbes is reporting that Peter Misek of Jeffries & Co. is claiming that the next-generation iPhone will be a minor update to the iPhone 4 hardware, will be dubbed “iPhone 4S” (the purported name of the next-gen device), and will be introduced this September. We’ve heard all of that before from previous reports, the new information (more like speculation) is that the new iPhone will bring with it, support for both Sprint, and T-Mobile, the remaining major carriers in the U.S. that currently do not have the iPhone.

The report wraps up by stating that the new iPhone likely won’t have LTE 4G support due to the lack sufficient supply Qualcomm radio chips needed for full-scale production. We’ve heard this before as well.

So, the only new information here, and it’s more likely speculation than information, is that the “iPhone 4S” will arrive on the Sprint and T-Mobile (which is in the process of being absorbed by AT&T) this fall, rounding out availability on all four major cell carriers in the U.S.
