Marketwatch is reporting that China Mobile has announced that they have reached agreements with Apple to use 4G technology in iPhones on that carrier’s network.
Even though China Mobile Chairman Wang Jianzhou was tight-lipped about the gritty details, he did mention that his company was prepping for commercial trials of the 4G TD-LTE technology at the start of 2012.
Jianzhou has dropped information like this before, claiming that Apple has shown interest in developing for the TD-LTE network technology. His claims also fall in line neatly with other reports regarding the iPhone. That is, a new model will be introduced this fall, still lacking 4G speeds, but in 2012, when 4G networks have had time to come online, Apple will introduce a phone capable of handling them then.
