Foxconn closes polishing plants after deadly blast for inspection

Foxconn will be closing down, at least temporarily all of their polishing factories for inspection following last week’s deadly blast at their Chegdu, China facility. Combustable dust was found in the duct work of the Chengdu plant. The building in which the explosion occurred, product polishing took place.

Apple Handed over 200 Patents from Freescale Semiconductor

Apple has seemingly been handed ownership of over 200 patents which were held by Freescale Semiconductor. The patents covered a wide range of computer hardware topics. It is unclear if Apple has been handed full ownership, or even why Apple is receiving these patents.

Home Screen of Apple’s new iPad-Based Kiosks Seen

One Apple customers ran across one of Apple’s new iPad-based information kiosks running on the home screen and decided to take pictures. The home screen shows only one icon in the dock, which actually isn’t an application, but rather a weblink to an Apple service intended to be used with the kiosks.
