Report Claims Largan to Supply 8-Megapixel Cameras for Next-Generation iPhone

iphone-camera-icon.jpgDigiTimes is reporting that Largan could be receiving orders from Apple in Q3 2011 for 8-megapixel camera modules to be used in the next-generation iPhone 4. If the orders were to be placed, it would fall in the right timeframe for the rumored release of the next iPhone.

The report also notes that Largan currently sells more 5-megapixel camera modules than 8-megapixel modules, this could change in a heartbeat however, if Apple were to put in the order. It’s also worth noting that Largan supplies 5-megapixel modules for Apple, which are currently used in the iPhone 4.

In short, this report seems to help along the rumors that the casing of the next-generation iPhone will look mostly the same as iPhone 4, while having some minor feature updates. Such as a new camera.
