Oh, what a pleasant surprise! It was just a few weeks ago that I checked out the Wired app for the first time and found it to be 1) kinda buggy and 2) really expensive when compared to the actual paper magazine subscription. That first point may still well be true, but Wired took steps to alleviate my second complaint with their recent adaptation of the app store subscription model:
- still $3.99 to purchase an issue
- $1.99 for a monthly subscription
- $19.99 for an annual subscription
The new pricing model already looks a lot better, but there’s one more detail that is absolutely killer: free access to the tablet edition for current Wired subscribers. That last bit of news has had me scrambling to check on the status of out household subscription when I really should be doing work.
