AT&T has announced they they plan to launch their next-generation LTE 4G network this summer in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio. Ten more cities will follow, with a total of 70 million customers being covered by year’s end.
So right about now, you’re asking how this is related to Apple. Well, this means AT&T is on schedule to roll out their new network, which in turn means Apple’s rumored timetable for an LTE 4G-compatible iPhone is still a go. It’s now expected that Apple will not introduce 4G in this year’s iPhone, but rather 2012’s model.
