MacBooks Rank Highly with Consumer Reports

The clearly Apple-biased folks at Consumer Reports (sarcasm: they were the source of most of Apple’s grief last summer regarding “Antennagate”), have ranked (subscription required) all of Apple’s MacBook lines at the top of their respective categories.

The “weakest” contender Apple had to offer was the 15-inch MacBook Pro, which still took the top spot, but competitors were only three points behind them.

The big winners for Apple were the 13-inch and 17-inch MacBook Pros, all of them taking the top spots, but with a much higher point margin on Consumer Reports scale. For instance, the 17-inch MacBook Pro scored 80, and 81 out of 100 for the two models represented. The 13-inch MacBook Air scored 76 out of 100, of course, taking the lead in that catagory.

Needless to say, Apple didn’t win the categories in which they don’t have any offerings. I’m looking at you, 14-inch category.
