Apple Now Owns “iCloud.com” Domain
After some reports that Apple had moved to acquire the iCloud.com domain name from Xcerion for a reported $4.5 million. Well, now it’s confirmed. Apple now has control of the domain and will be able to redirect to their site once the service is announced this Monday at the World Wide Developers Keynote.
Apple Updates iMovie for iOS, Audio and Video Output Enhancements
Apple has released an update for iMovie for iOS. This update brings Audio output to an HD tv using the Apple Digital AV Adapter. Video now plays full screen from Marquee to your HDTV, and a number of small fixes and improvements.
Next-Generation iPhone to Support AT&T’s 4G Network
Forbes is reporting that Todd Rethemeier, an Hudson Square, believes that the next-generation iPhone this fall will, after all, support HSPA+ technology, which will allow the devices to transfer data at faster speeds on GSM networks. AT&T is of course, rolling out their own “4G”-branded, HSPS+ standard. That means the iPhone will be faster on the AT&T network with 4G, despite the CDMA phone not having the LTE standard that accompanies that network technology.
New Promotional Materials Arriving at Apple Retail Stores Ahead of WWDC
9to5Mac is reporting that Apple retail stores are receiving new promotional materials, which are to remain sealed until Tuesday. This of course, all but confirms that Apple will be introducing something new at WWDC.
Apple Online Store Experiencing Outages
Apple’s online stores, including both App Stores for Mac OS and iOS are experiencing outages, along with the iTunes Store. It is not known what is causing the outage, but it could very well be linked to Apple’s upcoming introduction of iCloud.
iCloud Icon Now Revealed, Banners Going Up at Moscone West
MacRumors has published a photo wherein a banner, that is being hung in Moscone West in preparation for WWDC which clearly states “iCloud” and the accompanying icon. To no one’s surprise, it’s a cloud.
Apple Releases WWDC App
Apple has released an iOS app for WWDC, and it’s attendees. The app can be downloaded by anyone, but you need your WWDC credentials to log in.
