Following reports that Apple is building Twitter integration into iOS 5, and recent developments, such as the launch of Twitter’s own photo sharing service (which was a rumor in the report, and lends to their credibility when it came true), a new tweet from Robert Scoble, claims that Twitter will be baked into iOS 5 at a low level.
Next week will be a huge week for those of us who have lived on Twitter for last few years. Apple is building Twitter in deeply into iOS5.
Scoble, in follow-up tweets claims that he’d been sitting on this information for months, and that integration with the service will go beyond the just-launched photo-sharing service, or “send to twitter buttons”.
In short, it seems that a lot of the new features in iOS 5, will be internet-based. You name it, iCloud, twitter, and God only knows what else will be built in, at a system level, in iOS 5. At any rate, tomorrow is expected to unveil iCloud, iOS 5, and Mac OS X Lion tomorrow at their keynote which will kick off WWDC 2011. Stay tuned to iSource for coverage.
