First we heard reports that Apple’s different networking devices, such as the AirPort Express, or Time Capsule, are running low in stock in Apple retail Stores, and another report claiming that Apple was at least testing a Time Capsule capable of cacheing software updates and then distributing them to different Apple devices, for faster updating, followed soon after.
Now a report from Ars Technica has surfaced that claims the new Time Capsule may run iOS to handle more complicated tasks, while being powered by an A4 or A5 chip. This would be a move that would closely follow Apple’s transition to iOS for the Apple TV which occurred last fall.
This of course, leads to speculation of how the iCloud service will work, and what will be stored locally on a users’ network, to help with iCloud speeds.
At any rate, we’ll find out tomorrow with Apple’s WWDC 2011 keynote, which begins at 10AM Pacific, 1PM Eastern. Stay tuned to iSource for coverage.
