I’m not sure if iOS 5 will even run on my 3GS yet, but I’ve noticed that the actual Camera.app can take a while to launch, even on an iPhone 4. However, with iOS 5, that down time before you get a picture taken (and edited/tweeted) should be decreased drastically.
Apple seems to have really taken note of how popular the iPhone is as an iPhoneography tool, and has included a new lockscreen shortcut and editing tools to help turn the iPhone into a bit of a digital darkroom. Cupertino has also seen fit to allow the volume rocker to function as the shutter button, which is something they poo poo’ed Camera+ for doing a few months ago.
