Yesterday’s announcement’s came and went, and not a word was mentioned in regards to music streaming. Well, it turns out, at least according to Technology Review, carriers simply couldn’t handle the load. Both AT&T and Verizon have long since cancelled their unlimited data plans. Streaming music over current data plans would quickly chew up users’ current, limited data plans.
Extrapolate further, the sheer number of iPhones on the major networks around the world and in the U.S., would bring them to a grinding halt. And dear god, the amount of trouble we have already with the networks, maybe it’s best that Apple didn’t launch the feature.
