Madfinger Games sure have come a long way since Samurai: Way of the Warrior, which I reviewed two years ago. Their latest work, SHADOWGUN, has been unveiled at E3 this week and reminds me a lot of an App Store-sized version of Gears of War.
The guns still seem like they lack a real punch, but the movement, cover mechanics, and the smoothness of the controls all look pretty solid in this teaser trailer. The big surprise here, however, is that SHADOWGUN’s unreal graphical quality are not powered by Epic’s Unreal engine (see: Infinity Blade), but the Unity engine (see: Battleheart, OMG! Pirates, and Samurai I and II).
The rest of the details are still shrouded in shadow (and gun) for now, so we’ll just have to keep waiting for Madfinger Games to announce something more.
