Indications Surfaces that Suggest Apple’s Sales were Up 87% in May

Apple’s supply chain is a good indicator of how much Apple is selling, and based on estimates, Apple’s sales were up 87% year-over-year for the month of May.

iOS 5 Features Custom Vibration Creation

Buried in the Accessibly setting of iOS 5, users can now select different vibrations for alerts. More interestingly, you can now tap out and create your own custom vibrations. This is supposedly to aid in usability for the impaired. Whatever you think of Apple, they always seem to improve on the accessibility for all of their users.

iOS 5 Includes Airport and Time Capsule set up Software

Furthering the notion of “PC Free”, Apple has rolled Airport and Time Capsule setup software into iOS 5. That means, you can set up a wireless base station with no need for a computer. The Post PC era is here.

Weather App in iOS Sees Improvements in iOS 5

Not to mention the Weather updates included in the new Notification Center in iOS 5, the Weather app itself is getting an overhaul as well. The new weather app now has a “current location” page. Also, now tapping on a daily forecast, brings up new detail, with hour-by-hour forecasts.

Apple to Allow for Re-Downloads of Discontinued/Banned Apps

It appears service is currently hit or miss, but iCloud is allowing some iOS 5 users (currently only developers) can download some of apps that have been discontinued or banned. Engadget reports that they downloaded Tris, which has been off the App Store for some time.
