Next-Gen MacBook Air Now in Production

overview_hero3_20101020.pngConcord Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, via AppleInsider, is reporting that Apple’s manufacturing partners are ramping up production, and plan to produce some 400,000 next-generation MacBook Air units in June for a soon-to-be released refresh.

The report even splits down the numbers, claiming that 55% of the units will be of the 11.6-inch variety because it’s proven to be more popular due to it’s price.

Of course, we’ve been hearing rumors about the new MacBook Airs since the beginning of this year, almost nearly all of which claim that the new models will ship in the June/July timeframe. Recent reports also claim that the new MacBook Airs will be equipped with Intel’s Sandy Bridge processors, which will be a nice upgrade over the Core 2 Duos currently shipping in the line.
