Over the last several weeks we’ve seen several false starts regarding Apple’s annual Back to School promotion. Now, there is a report coming out, complete with photo confirmation, that the promotion will kick off tomorrow.
With the promotion, Apple will be offering a $100 gift card, which can be used with the Mac App Store, iTunes Store, App Store, and iBookstore. The giftcard will be handed out to an eligible (college student) customer, with the purchase of a Mac. The promotion will run from June 16th, untilSeptember 20, 2011.
Typically, Apple had offered a free iPod touch (or an equivalent credit towards another iPod model) with the promotion. It seems that Apple is downsizing the offer, while refocusing the attention to the App Store, or more importantly the Mac App Store.
From personal experience, I can say it’s the best time to buy a Mac. In fact, I purchased my MacBook Pro two years ago with this deal. The very Mac I’m writing this on right now.
