Screeny for Mac Makes Screencasting “a billion times better”

Screeny for Mac

I’ve been using QuickTime’s New Screen Recording functionality to record quick screencasts, but a new app from Drew Wilson looks like it should make the whole screencasting process a lot easier. Screeny is a $15 Mac App Store exclusive that lives in your menu bar, allows you to select an area of the screen to record, and outputs in the highest possible video quality. There isn’t any support for system audio at the moment, but Screeny will record any sounds your system microphone picks up.

So just make sure you’re not in a vacuum when you record and you’ll be fine – because when in space, no one can hear you screen[cast].
